Aspirus Wausau Hospital - Birthing Center: Obstetric Emergency Department

Our Obstetric Emergency Department offers emergency obstetric (pregnancy) care for women who are 20 weeks or more pregnant and experiencing pregnancy-related emergencies such as bleeding, abdominal pain, or dizziness. We also provide care for postpartum women—up to six weeks after delivery—who have pre-eclampsia symptoms such as headache, vision changes, or abdominal pain. Patients seeking OB emergency services should enter through Hospital Entrance C, the same entrance used for the birthing center.
